The Classic style brings to life elegance, symmetry, and balance. At its foundation is a beautiful, neutral palette that honours traditional architecture but always maintains a warm, welcoming, and homely environment. 
The Classic style has an enduring appeal that never dates, but becomes richer and more layered over time, growing with you and your family for years to come. 
The MyChoice Design Team have created four subsets within the style to help you really tailor your perfect Classic home – Plantation, Hamptons, Country and Vintage.

HOW TO ACHIEVE CLASSIC STYLING IN YOUR HOME
STREET ENVY

A warm toned brick with texture and depth reflects true Classic style. Windows are an integral part of a Classic home and the colour white is always the first choice. 
A flat profile roof creates a sense of history and reflects a traditional shingle look. A solid front door adds a regal feel to a home and is truly reflective of this style’s rich history. 

COOKING IN THE KITCHEN

Kitchens are the heart of the Classic home. Choose profiled cabinetry doors to create the look and add overheads with glass fronts to add colour to the kitchen and stock them with your most colourful crockery! 
Finishes are extremely important, opt for polished chrome or nickel for tapware and handles. Handles should feature on all cabinetry with preferably knob handles on cabinets and small drawers, and a cup or detailed pull handles on larger drawers. 

BATHROOM BLISS

In the bathroom, choose traditional polished edged mirrors in either a rectangular or oval shape. Accompany with round edged tapware with polished chrome of metallic finishes in brass or gold. 
Opt for traditional freestanding baths with a solid base or claw feet with soft edges for basins to enhance this look.

UNDER YOUR FEET

Timber floors to main areas in either a herringbone pattern or a wide board to ground the space create a sense of history. 
Carpet creates warmth in the bedrooms. Choose a warmer tone to complement the timber flooring and the main wall colour. Organic tones inspired by the surrounding landscape are a great option. 

MY STYLE TILE

Keep the tiling choices consistent through your home for a seamless flow. Use a large format, natural inspired stone floor tile in light to medium warm tones. Create a beautiful focal point with subway tiles in the layout of herringbone, brick bond or a chevron pattern.

 
LIGHT UP YOUR LIFE

Wall lights create ambiance in a Classic style and are a great feature in lieu of art. Large oversized lamps are an inviting way to connect spaces. 
Pendant lighting over a dining table creates a welcoming and inviting space. Choose island pendants to complement the finish of the cabinetry handles by highlighting the same finish.
